Welltown Brewery

Monks Haven Ale

Every now and then, I get the exciting opportunity to collaborate with Welltown, a local brewery here in Tulsa. They're known for brewing, bottling, and selling their own in-house merchandise. Each season, the Welltown team crafts unique beers ranging from ales to stouts. Accompanying these limited releases is the creation of one-of-a-kind labels.

In 2021, I had the pleasure of working with their team to craft an immersive label for a Belgian Abbey Ale named "Monk's Haven." The process involved diving into an inspiration cycle before delving into the design itself. I created several variations, refining the design until we reached the final design—a portal-like scene that captured the essence of the brew.

Wake Me Up Before You Cocoa Stout

My second project with Welltown Brewery involved crafting a label for their holiday and New Year's chocolate stout. The Welltown team emphasized the strength of the alcohol content, suggesting it could lull you right to sleep!

Upon hearing this, the team shared a delightful photo of a co-worker peacefully napping by the lake after savoring some of the delectable chocolate stout. Inspired by this serene scene, I translated elements from it into a series of charming illustrations to complement the label itself.

Scrumdiddlyumptious Stout

In anticipation of the new Wonka movie set to release in December 2023, Welltown seized the opportunity to join the pop culture excitement by crafting a Wonka-inspired stout infused with toffee, chocolate, and peanuts.

Fully embracing the theme, including the iconic golden tickets, I collaborated with the Welltown team to design an illustration capturing the enchantment within the chocolate factory. Reveling in the process of creating whimsical gumdrops and lollipop trees, the Welltown Scrumdiddlyumptious Stout label came together.

Cooper and Mill Brew Co. Label Design

Grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with numerous talented local individuals, I have a close connection with a remarkable design group called Clean Hands. Specializing in vibrant mural installations using spray paint and bold designs, they were approached by Cooper and Mill in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to create an indoor mural for their brewery space. The vision was to extend this mural onto a series of their house beers.

Clean Hands approached me with an intriguing proposition: I would design the beer cans, and they would translate these illustrations into a mural. In collaboration with both Clean Hands and the Cooper and Mill team, I crafted a collection of six distinct beer can designs. Once completed, Clean Hands seamlessly integrated these beer cans into a colorful mural that brought each design to life.
